Building God's Love School Classrooms

Dear Friends,

May went well with almost all of our children at our Home for three weeks school holiday which ended on 17 May. So, Monday 18th was our starting date not the 25th as earlier communicated …..Apologies! GLS children promptly reported: There are 8 children taught by Julius,15 taught by Justus and 37 taught by Teacher Truth helped by teacher on practice, Evelyn.

We want to thank you for your generous support to-date as we have been able to feed our children well, bought scholastic materials for our new school term which resumed on 18 Mayand 13 Augustexpected closing date.
An American friend, Erica,has offered to build GLH/S website to further raise awareness! Will post you with news as soon as this is up and running.

We have had cases of Typhoid (we boil water but sometimes the children drink unboiled without our knowledge), measles, fever.(some nets are not all working and repairs done by matrons to make it personal)……Jabarah has fever currently but undertreatment,Monica, Michaels and a few others were all victims of measles but thank you for your prayers and financial support as this is now a thing of the past.
Our current needs are;

1-School fees for GLH children especially those in other schools who don’t study at GLS because of few classes we currently have. 25Pounds can feed and educate a child for a month. Thank you so much
2-Clothing needs…shoes, clothes,…for ages between 3 to 11.
3- I still share about our excitement for the two plots adjacent to us which have been put up for sale. Through some generous gifts, local and from abroad we have bought the Yellow plot(check outline map attached). If we could purchase the second plot (Blue colour from outline map) we would have enough land to build a small school”. I wondered if you know of someone out there whom I can contact for help.

Hope you are all well. We are sending you our March news. GLH and GLS continue to flourish with kids very happy with learning! We show you primary one class with Teacher Justus

We have several times mentioned our urgent need for a next classroom and I am glad to inform you that we have acquired a plot nearby with some existing building which we turned into a class room. Many thanks for supporting us raise the lump sum amount though we have had to take an interest free loan of £17.5k to have the required amount for the plot …….Thank you so much!

The children have had good diet and we are now looking forward Easter day to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. A day so special at GLH especially when we remember the past when GLH had a “grave of debts”, kwashiorkor cases and many other challenges that we have gone through due to your support .We are where we are! Please don’t hesitate to send us hello and a word of prayer as you celebrate Jesus’s Resurrection.
We kindly continue to update you on current needs in these lines
1- 17.5k debt to be cleared for the acquired plot. I will send you a building photo within the acquired plot in the next newsletter.
2- £25 could educate and feed one child for a month. However, any amount small or big means a lot to us.
3- At least one or two redundant laptop computers.
