The project seeks to established Autism Computer Learning Centre , a software educational programme which will be designed for 500 children with autism Spectrum Disorder condition ,parents and guardians and professionals that would offer a comprehensive curriculum , individual assessment tools ,staff and parent training modules ,data tracking and progress reporting and professional support alternatives programmes.
Autism in Ghana estimates that 1 in 87 children in Ghana under the age of 3 years are affected by the condition. According to the United Nations it is estimated that school enrolment rates of children with disabilities in developing countries are as low as 1to 3 per cent .This means that approximately 98 per cent of children with disabilities do not go to school and are therefore illiterates.This Project will impact 500 Autism children with Computer Learning skills.
The projects will provide computers, ipads, medicine,wheelchairs to children living with Autism Spectrum Disorder in order to provide free access to a well researched, highly effective web based learning and development programme . The projects will provide financial assistance to mothers of Children with Autism to engage in livestock, cash crop and fish farming, tie and dye, liquid and bar soap making among others .
The Project will equipped 500 children living with Autism not only in academics ,but everything in connection with their self development ,independent skills ,everything regarding building their numeracy and literacy skills , through sensatory ,communication and language as well as inter personal and social skills. And addition help improve their health status and also help their mothers to gain financial independence to provide good living livelihoods for them.
