Exciting news - the newest Mercy In Action sponsored birth center is getting closer to being ready to open. This new birth center is being set up with a non-profit board, which I am on, and I could not be happier with the way it is coming together. Everyone involved in this project to launch Imago Dei Health & Birth Center are committed and caring, and the project is being led by our long-time friend Marlene, a midwife and leader who exemplifies our vision and values.
A beautiful lighted sign went up this week, a gift from a local friend and builder. Now finally, after months of construction dust, (which has not totally ended but is winding down) we are ready to furnish and equip the inside of this clinic!
Of course, buying furniture and medical equipment for pregnancy and birth care is the fun part and you can be a part of this process that will bless the families who will deliver babies in this space for years to come.
This new birth center we are building is located in a medical complex across the street from the overcrowded government hospital, so everyone is saying we may get busy fast once we get our license to operate, hopefully before the end of this year. To serve the needs of our community, we are going to need basic and emergency equipment as well as ongoing consumable supplies and welcome contributions from our supporters.
Thank you for your unwavering support for this new birth center. Mercy In Action is building in the Philippines. We could not do it without your donations, contributions, and prayers coming our way!
We will send updates regularly as the building, furnishing and equipping process continues. Do you have comments or suggestions on furnishing the center? We would love to hear them... you can write to us at info@mercyinaction.com
Love,
Vicki and the Team
