We are grateful to our GlobalGiving donors for continuously supporting our efforts.
Through your generous donations, we were able to empower the coastal villagers for the sustainable restoration of their degraded mangroves. For the past years, OISCA has been providing technical assistance to the local community in maintaining their mangrove nursery. In our years of experience in restoring coastal areas, we have developed a technique of deliberate planting of mangroves in strategic areas to maximize their function for protection. With the constant bombardment of cyclones and receding coastal areas, our local community partners in areas where we helped establish mangroves are now enjoying the results of our joint initiatives. It is overwhelming every time we hear them say how they felt protected by the mangroves and how they are now enjoying the abundance from the sea. There is no need for them to travel far and spend a huge amount of fuel to catch fish. The blessings are now pouring into them because of the mangroves. These stories from the ground are pushing us to reach out more to local villagers and work with them as partners until they develop a sense of ownership towards the initiative.
Again, thank you for all the tremendous support.
