Small Supplies, Big Dreams for kids in Rural Togo

By Kodjo Drofenou | President & Co-Founder

In the week of March 20th, 2026, our team carried out a nationwide field visit across all 24 partner schools in Togo as part of our ongoing school supplies support program for children in rural communities.

This visit gave us the opportunity to assess the needs of students and schools more closely, review how school supplies distributed in previous phases have supported learning, and identify the most urgent educational needs for children in underserved areas. Beyond observing the school environment, we met directly with students, teachers, and community leaders to better understand the daily challenges they face and how access to basic school supplies can improve attendance, participation, and confidence in the classroom.

During our visits, we identified key barriers affecting students’ ability to learn effectively, including limited access to notebooks, pens, pencils, school bags, and other essential learning materials. In response, we have strengthened our plans to better support children by:

  • Working closely with teachers and school leaders to improve distribution and follow-up
  • Reinforcing community involvement to ensure that children are equipped and encouraged to stay engaged in school

These efforts are helping schools create a better learning environment where children can participate more fully and confidently in their education.

Program Growth

We are excited to share that 4 new schools — EPP Kpélé Bémé, EPP Dzanipé, EPP Adzahoun Fiagbé, and EPP Atigbé — have joined the program, expanding our reach from 24 to 28 schools across Togo. This growth means more children in rural communities will receive the school materials they need to learn, succeed, and remain motivated in school.

Why This Matters

Each school supply provided is more than just a material item — it represents:

  • A child being better prepared to learn
  • A step toward reducing barriers to education in rural communities
  • A long-term investment in the future of children, families, and communities

Thanks to your support, we are not only providing school supplies — we are helping children feel seen, supported, and empowered to pursue their education.

What’s Next

We will continue assessing school needs, improving supply distribution strategies, and expanding the program to reach even more children and communities in need.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
