Our Mission is to raise awareness of the vulnerability of Endangered and Threatened Species through educational experiences, as well as ethically breeding cheetahs in captivity. Our vision is to release some of our animals into a protected yet self-sustaining natural habitat. We have over 50 animals in our care, including cheetahs, leopards and non-breeding male lions. Through education programs and conservation initiatives, we can save these precious big cat species from extinction.
Taking care of our animals uses a lot of electricity. This is costing us a lot of money, money we actually don't have. Besides that, the power supply in South Africa is still not the most trustworthy of all. We often have power outs, which means that we struggle because the fridges stop working and all of our much needed meat goes off.
We've decided we're going to become a 'green' farm from now. One of the ways to do this, is by installing solar panels. These are very expensive but will give us a chance to take even better care of our animals. This means we will be able to deteriorate the cost for the use of our freezers and fences and this ultimately gives us the opportunity to feed our animals high quality meat and give them the best medical care possible.
As you probably know, the environment is just as important as conservation in the race for survival of our animals. By installing these solar panels, we will contribute to the fight against global warning. With solar panels, we would also be able to have a minimum of electricity during power outs, to keep our fridges working and keep some of our important equipment running. We are a non profit organization so every dollar donated makes the biggest difference to us!
