Challenge

Children with Disabilities in Bangladesh are marginalized and not socially integrated. Sadly, the policymakers, social institutions are not invested to build socially inclusive environment that can allow the children with disabilities to attain a normal life having friends, feel positive and hopeful about future, play sports and be seen as equal contributors to the society instead of been labelled as burdens. Stereo-types against them thus are barriers to their success and dreams.

Solution

The inclusive camp-environment will allow the kids to feel confident and increase their self-esteem that can be transferable to other areas of their lives. The press coverage due to the uniqueness of the program will build awareness among policy-makers, teachers and general public to create inclusive facilities for them. Children who can see will build respect and empathy that will drive them to build friendships and encourage them to be change makers. Schools will start inclusive sports program

Long-Term Impact

Policy makers would build accessible facilities and programs. Children with visual impairments will become self-sufficient and build positive sense of self as they see themselves compete at sports, making friends, and gaining physical and mental fitness. They can transfer the skill of discipline and practice in others aspects of their lives. Mutual cooperation and respect will increase in the society when everyone can see the kids participating in competitive sports beside kids who see
