Describe the choice for the target group:

The main principles of the project proposal were to: sensitise the beneficiaries about women empowerment and gender issues; create awareness about identification of problems of women services and programmes, help lines and support services for women in distress; develop communication, negotiation and counselling skills; identify counselling methods, types, techniques and processes involved therein; and promote networking among NGOs and institutions providing support services to women in distress. Broad contents of the project proposal is situational analysis of women in distress, laws related to women in distress, identification of problems, diagnosis and understanding the interventions of the state and supportive services, role of different agencies/organisations involved in cases related to women in distress, ensuring minimum standards in delivery of services and institutional care, skills/techniques relating to communication and negotiation, counselling, networking etc.

Describe the target group as concretely as possible and indicate how many men, women and children you expect to reach with this project (direct and indirect):

Target people population: 25700 area covered 25 kms. The project area: Country : INDIA: State : Tamilnadu; District Tiruvannamalai; Taluk : Tiruvannamalai Target villages Covered : 10 Dalit Villages ; The entire project area is covered with Dalit Vulnerable community places.

Formation of 10 rights based women group  -  500  - Direct Benficiaries

Describe the contribution of the target group to the project (financially or in kind)

In total the Dalit communities  as a whole is involved in the project to render service whole-heartedly to ensure the social responsibility for protection of the women’s rights, education and development .

The mainfocus of contribute to socioeconomic poverty reduction of these dalit community. Most probably all the beneficiaries of this project are belongs to Dalit  community- Downtrodden women and Adolescent girls . Hence they give Assurance to involve and participate in the project activities. BOSS has proposed to convince them emphasizing the need and uses of this project and make up their minds for the needs of their rights . After having discussion and decision making in village & women SHG meetings in will be conducted. By conducting women SHG meetings and village meetings, the decision making group discussion and action plan arriving they will involve in this project. The involvement of community leaders ad stakeholders are being taken in to account while planning and implementing the activities.
