Describe the problems giving cause for setting up the project:
The Statistics that in India, for every half an hour, One dalit woman is raped, for every half an hour one woman is subjected to sexual abuse in work place and every 10 minutes, one woman commits suicide or is murdered due to harassment mainly of sexual nature, do not give a comfortable feeling to any woman, living in India, midst in respective of the less educational and social status. It continues to prove that Indian women are still prisoned in psychological lock-up.
In a Scientific assessment, conducted by a leading fortnightly “India Today” The Statistics that in Tiruvannamalai district has been marked as the third most backward District in terms of female literacy, per capital income and not in access to basic health services among the 36 Districts in the State.
Being the District which tops in female illiteracy, the women of the District, especially the dalit women are exploited in many ways. The Daily News paper reports confirms the increasing number of incidences in which innocent women are sexually exploited. Based on our observation, experience and from the news paper reports, the following forms of sexual abuses / violence / exploitation is common happening in the life of the majority of women in the District.
In this corona situation Morethan 134 attracites against on dalit communtiy in our district. Because of scandalous and fault machinery of the Government schemes are reaching these poor and downtrodden people. Moreover the empowerment in social and economic couldn’t be achieved because of partiality and untouchability due to castism. There exists several denial of human rights by way of manhandling, raping, decoiting, discrimination and violent actions against these Dalits. Hence BOSS is striving hard and taken a challenge to establish empowerment and emancipation by collective action among these poor Dalits
Describe the choice for the target group:
The main principles of the project proposal were to: sensitise the beneficiaries about women empowerment and gender issues; create awareness about identification of problems of women services and programmes, help lines and support services for women in distress; develop communication, negotiation and counselling skills; identify counselling methods, types, techniques and processes involved therein; and promote networking among NGOs and institutions providing support services to women in distress. Broad contents of the project proposal is situational analysis of women in distress, laws related to women in distress, identification of problems, diagnosis and understanding the interventions of the state and supportive services, role of different agencies/organisations involved in cases related to women in distress, ensuring minimum standards in delivery of services and institutional care, skills/techniques relating to communication and negotiation, counselling, networking etc.

They will get awareness on social issues and trained in leadership skills, equipped and ready to fight for the rights among in the community leaders.
Organised and formed youth and women groups in 10 target village communities.
Made them realize their rights, stand and future plans, for youths and women.
Open and public awareness obtained on human rights and its practices.
Empowerment in democratic application for the women, youths and adults
100 Dalit widows Support to victims women and Associating with human rights orgs, Dist free legal aid programs and govt welfare assistances
200 Dalit widows will be empowered and there is no longer have indebtedness to money lenders and become self supported.
