In Argentina, there are 58.000 volunteer firefighters. When there is a national emergency for forest fires, firemen and firewomen move to anywhere in the country they are needed. While their intervention, firefighters require hydration and a suitable feeding that isn't always within reached. Also, communication equipment must be trought satellite and in many cases they don't have the appropriate technology. So, they are cut off from the command posts and risk their lives.
Challenge Firefighters from all over the country take action when a national emergency for forest fires is declared. Often, after their interventions, volunteer firefighters loose or damage their personal protection equipment and tools. Those are expensive and not very can afford new ones. In order to help firefighters to do their job safer, Argentine Firefighters Foundation works to provide them new equipment. Since 2020, we have delivered personal protective equipment forest fires to 800 F.F
With this project, Argentine Firefighters Foundation will analise the requires of firemen and firewomen after their intervention and then provide them new equipment, in some cases, more technological or safer ones. Thus, firefighters will be more prepared before new emergencies or natural disasters. Also, Argentine Firefighters Foundation gives the community prevention tips, in order to minimize the incidence of human action in causing wildfires.
Through this campaign, firefighters from all over the country will have suitable equipment and in good conditions. Thus, they will be able to act before forest fires or natural disasters in order to protect their communities. In addition, prevention campaigns will enable the community to empower their resilience and be aware about how to act before natural disasters.
