Understanding why cancer claims so many lives in Ghana is critical to saving them. This project conducts research on cancer mortality trends, causes of late diagnosis, and barriers to treatment. The findings will inform better policies, targeted interventions, and community programs to reduce deaths and improve cancer care.
Cancer mortality rates in Ghana remain high due to late diagnosis, limited access to treatment, and insufficient data to guide interventions. Without accurate research on mortality patterns, communities, healthcare providers, and policymakers cannot respond effectively to prevent deaths.
This project will collect and analyze data on cancer mortality, identify barriers to early detection and treatment, and share actionable findings with hospitals, policymakers, and community organizations. Evidence-based recommendations will help improve prevention, screening, treatment access, and survival outcomes.
The project will strengthen Ghana's cancer response by informing targeted interventions, reducing late-stage diagnoses, and lowering cancer-related deaths. Over time, improved data and research will guide health policies and community programs, leading to better survival rates and more efficient use of resources
