Dear Friends of ATC,

We are pleased to share an update on the progress of our Carbon Credits for Humanitarian Solar program. Your generous contributions have enabled us to continue our mission of improving the quality of life for families in rural Guatemala by providing access to clean energy and safe drinking water. Below, we highlight some of the key achievements of this summer.

Solar Power Installations:

This summer, we successfully installed over a dozen solar power systems in rural homes. These systems have transformed the lives of families who previously had no access to electricity. In addition, we installed new solar hardware at a rural school, ensuring that students have a reliable source of power for their studies. We also outfitted the Wellkind nonprofit offices with solar power, enhancing their ability to serve the community.

Education and Training:

Understanding the importance of education in the adoption of new technologies, we conducted two introductory classes in solar power. These classes were designed to educate local Guatemalans about the benefits of solar energy and how it can improve their lives. By spreading this knowledge, we hope to inspire more individuals to embrace solar power as a viable solution for their energy needs.

Water Filtration Systems:

Access to clean drinking water remains a critical issue in many rural areas. This summer, we provided water filters made in Guatemala to families in need. These filters are durable, easy to maintain, and play a vital role in preventing waterborne illnesses, especially among children who are at risk of intestinal parasites.

Volunteer Engagement:

We were fortunate to host two groups of volunteers this summer, who came to learn about solar power and contribute to our installation projects. Their enthusiasm and hard work were invaluable as they assisted with both home and school installations. Their involvement not only supported our efforts but also helped spread awareness of the importance of sustainable energy solutions.

Conclusion:

The successes of our Carbon Credits program this summer are a testament to the impact that your support has made possible. Together, we are providing essential resources to those in need, empowering communities, and fostering a future where clean energy and safe water are accessible to all.

Thank you for your continued partnership in this vital work. We look forward to sharing more successes with you in the future.

Without you hundreds of families would be living in the dark, burning candles or kerosene to see at night.  You make it safer for midwives to attend home births at night, and you save tons of carbon emissions.

Thank you.
