This project aims to provide an opportunity for 50 orphans children to live in congenial atmosphere with parental love to pursue their education. The project will provide food, shelter, education and clothing and medical care for orphans, semi-orphans and destitute children in rural areas of Kinshasa. The poverty situations in DRC context, reflects in the rural areas of Kinshasa. The families in slum areas are normally large and often face the problems.
Poverty has always been recognized as the major cause of disease, death, and disability. Large families in rural areas often face these problems and the earning members of the family unable to cope-up with the situations and survival becomes difficult. The relief often comes in the form of death leaving the children as orphans and destitute. These children starve without shelter, food and clothing and roam along the streets.
To solve the problem, the following Activities will be undertaken in caring the children in the Home: a) To provide an opportunity for children to live in congenial atmosphere with parental love; b) to provide food, shelter, education for 50 orphans, semi-orphans and destitute children in Home; c) to provide medical care to the children and to make the children to learn moral lessons to become self- reliant.
This project will collect and analyze and use the data for effective reflections. It is also for identification of the problems; potential gaps and required remedial actions through participatory assessment and evaluation. The Policy is to bring awareness to Congolese Government about the misery of orphan children in slum areas of Kinshasa and to encourage the voluntary agencies in undertaking programmes to fight against the illiteracy and dropout children.
