We assemble and distribute bags which have food, basic essential items, candy, personal hygiene items etc to folks who are suffering in homelessness. Our goal is to help those who have fallen upon hard times, give them critical, useful items, provide comfort and nourishment and let them know that someone still cares. We also give out doggy bags for those who have a furry companion. In the winter we distribute coats, hats, socks, scarves and hand warmers as well.
There are an increasing number of people suffering homelessness every year. They struggle to meet basic survival needs in a tragic & lonely life.Women face even bigger feminine hygiene needs. Many of us see someone on the street, would like to help, but also are unsure if the money may go to drugs etc. We distribute our care bags to many volunteers from Payson to Phoenix, so that as many people as possible have the bags in their cars for the random street corner gifts.
While small organizations like Golden Rule may not be able to solve homelessness, but we can get our care bags out on the streets to as many volunteer donors as possible, who in turn pass the bags along to the homeless. In this way, we have a mobile, well spread out force to help with. Our goal is to ease suffering, hunger, loneliness and need, so each bag is a little candle of comfort and hope
Albeit on a day to day basis, we solve the problem of need, hunger and hopelessness among the homeless. Peoples' lives will be brightened, bellies filled, personal hygiene needs met, a little bit of comfort given to a person going through a rough time. Depending on our budget, we pass out as few as 50 to as many as 300 Care Bags per year. Your assistance can help us get more bags out!
