Eight year old “Sundesh” lost his mother when he was just 3 months old, and is living with HIV. His father, also struggling with HIV, migrated to India for work, leaving Sundesh with his grandmother in western Nepal.
Frightened by Sundesh’s worsening condition, his grandmother desperately appealed to NYF to help. Sundesh arrived at NYF’s New Life Center (NLC) undernourished and with severe infections all over his body. With one and a half months of treatment and holistic care at the NLC, his health improved dramatically and he was free of opportunistic infections!
Approximately 72 children receive life-saving treatment each year at the NLC, a specialized facility for children and their mothers living with HIV/AIDS, one of the most stigmitized diseases in Nepal.
Thank you for helping children like Sundesh have a second chance at life!
