Street children are a danger in our environment. There are 70,000 street children in the country (Source: UNICEF) and in Uvira city eastern DR. Congo has around 5,000 street children. These children can kill, steal and rape on their way. The causes are poverty of parents who can no longer meet the needs for food, health care, education and housing. They constitute a social danger for 3 reasons: - They are used by certain politicians, - They learn to steal in young ages, they often attack women.
- The activity sessions which will be organized to aim not only to give children basic knowledge and practical skills, and will work towards their socio-economic reintegration - vocational training: (cooking), (literacy), car mechanics) and (sewing). - Analyze the major causes and establish responsibility and finally stem this evil which eats away at society and harms exhaustion - integral children. - Growing awareness of children's rights.
The project will encourage the return of children to school and support them in the process of finding sustainable accommodation. The project will provide school kits such as notebooks, uniforms, school fees, as well as social reintegration, food, housing and medicine. Awareness rising on the rights of the child.
