Technovation is not an easy challenge. Over the course of 12 weeks, our participating students collaborated together to identify something in their local community that could use a fresh idea to be better. My, Thu, and Tuyen - who all love to read, but don't have access to a library or a wide variety of books, decided that their solution should center around an improved method of accessing and sharing books. They decided to create an app that could be used in the local community, where users could make their book titles available to others to meet-up and exchange books. The girls worked hard to code their app (and worked closely with our technology partner - Cadence Design Systems from San Jose, CA - who we met through Team4Tech) and create their pitch video.
Not only did the girls finish the project, which filled them with a sense of pride and accomplishment - but they passed through the first run of judging from the international panel of judges and advanced to the semi-final round.
We are so proud of these ladies. And so grateful to each of you who helped to make this project possible.
Sincerely,
Tad
