Dear Donors,
Thank you for your generosity and for caring about some of the most vulnerable people in Nigerian cities. Your support helps bring healthcare and hope to individuals often overlooked by society.
Many homeless people in Lagos, Abuja, and Nasarawa face untreated illnesses, injuries, and chronic conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes. Without access to clinics or hospitals, avoidable deaths continue to rise, particularly during harsh weather or disease outbreaks. The “Caring for the Homeless Through Street Medicine” project brings trained health workers directly to street communities using tricycles or on foot. Teams provide first aid, basic health checks, malaria testing, wound care, and urgent referrals. Hygiene kits are distributed, and volunteers educate and support individuals on staying healthy while connecting them to local clinics when needed.
While the donations received are encouraging, they are not enough to fully launch the project yet, more is needed to kickstart the project. With your help and support, this project can save lives, improve trust between healthcare workers and street populations, and create a replicable model for longer-term interventions, including rehabilitation, shelter referrals, and mental health support, ultimately showing that every life matters.
Warm regards,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
