On the morning of September 22, 2024, thanks to your generous support, we celebrated a monumental milestone for CATALYST scholars: the Certificate Awarding Ceremony for the third cohort of 38 female graduates. These remarkable young women join the 226 students who have benefited from the program since its inception.
The event, attended by 130 proud family members, supporters, and community leaders, was an inspiring testament to the power of education to transform lives. Mr. Glenn Fawcett, Executive Director of Lotus Outreach International, delivered a heartfelt speech acknowledging the impact of donors like you:
“Your support creates a ripple effect that transcends borders. Educating one woman enriches families, communities, and future generations. These graduates are not only role models but future leaders who will drive Cambodia's development and inspire countless others.”
Mr. Fawcett encouraged the graduates to embrace a culture of giving back, a theme deeply rooted in the CATALYST Project. He shared, “You don’t need to wait to be wealthy to make a difference. Small, consistent acts of kindness can change lives.”
The graduates themselves spoke powerfully about the program’s impact. Ms. Lisa, one of two student representatives, reflected:
“Lotus Outreach Cambodia has been like a second family, supporting us unconditionally. Beyond academic opportunities, we’ve learned vital skills and the importance of giving back. Volunteering to help children in remote provinces has been especially meaningful, filling us with purpose and joy.”
Families shared their own stories, expressing deep gratitude. Ms. Ya, sister of graduate Lina, recounted:
“After losing our parents, I asked Lina to leave school to support the family. But she was determined to continue. The scholarship from Lotus Outreach Cambodia changed everything. Lina is the first in our family to graduate from university and has inspired our nieces and nephews to value education.”
As the ceremony concluded, the graduates received letters of commendation, celebrating their hard work and resilience. This achievement was made possible by your generosity and belief in the transformative power of education!
Thank you for being a vital part of this journey. Your support empowers young women to break barriers, uplift communities, and build brighter futures.
