Promoting a culture of nature caring

Bird-watching

This year, we have started enthusiastically and want to share all the thrilling things we have done in the Cabo Pulmo!

Our monthly agendas program exciting topics for our visitors and activities that strengthen the community's well-being and the conservation of its resources.

Exploring the reef was one of our most essential activities, where the children had the opportunity to learn about the tide pools with the help of Marco M., one of the experts on the subject. They saw sea cucumbers, urchins, snails, and even lobsters and learned how, during low tide, these places become small ecosystems for many organisms that are important in the reef.

There is no doubt that turtles will always be a species of interest for adults and children since there are still many things that are unknown about them: their migratory routes, their way of orienting themselves to return to the same place where they were born, how many species we find in Mexico and endless questions. Dr Mónica L. took us by the hand to learn more about these reptiles, and the attendees had the opportunity to appreciate the shells, learn about their diet, and learn about some of the different species that visit our coasts.

We also had the opportunity to celebrate World Wetlands Day with a bird-watching activity. The children could observe them through binoculars and identify them with colorful guides that allowed them to learn more about their characteristics, plumage, courtship, feeding, and even their song without losing the opportunity to learn about the importance of wetlands for these and many of the species that inhabit them.

And well, we could not miss the participation of the Cabo Pulmo Visitor Center in the Mega Beach Cleanup that was carried out nationally, actively participating with visitors and community members so that our beaches are clean and our spaces are well conserved for the enjoyment of everyone.

We continue working with great enthusiasm, promoting our culture and the care of our planet. We invite you to continue supporting our Center; daily, children, young people, community members, and visitors inspire us with their energy, desire to participate, and passion to build a better world together. Thank you for your continued support!
