Cazadero Music Camp draws a diverse student body from across the Bay Area and beyond to participate in a dynamic music curriculum which inspires young people to develop their musicianship, make lasting friendships, and learn important life skills such as teamwork, leadership, creativity, and more. We are committed to making our program accessible to all aspiring young musicians. Our scholarship program helps hundreds of young musicians with financial need take part in our program each year.
At Cazadero we are committed to making our program accessible to all aspiring young musicians, regardless of their financial circumstances. Our scholarship program helps hundreds of young musicians with financial need take part in our program each year. In 2019, our goal will be to continue to provide scholarship assistance to a minimum of 20% of the youth we serve.
Providing youth with a venue for creative study and self-expression connects them to a life-enriching passion, and is shown to have significant educational and cognitive value, beyond increased music proficiency. Regardless of socioeconomic background, students involved in the arts have more favorable outcomes - higher achievement, staying in school, and better attitudes - than those who have little to no arts involvement.
At the micro level, Cazadero provides excellent music education to each individual participant, and friendships grow between campers from different backgrounds who wouldn't have met otherwise. At the macro level, Cazadero's program benefits school music programs by engaging students during the summer break so they come back to the classroom inspired - ready to share the skills, knowledge, and confidence they learned at camp.
