A young lady (no name due to confidentiality) has shared that her anxiety and depression symptoms have significantly decreased since receiving our services during this previous quarter. She has expressed to feel more calm, and has been able to regulate her mood much easier by practicing the coping skills she has learned at Centro Bonilla but by also attending our group yoga and sound bath sessions. She has also shared that she has noticed some positive physical changes such as her menstrual cycle being more regulated each month, which were not due to her body experiencing constant anxiety symptoms (alert, shortness of breath, multiple panic attacks throughout the day, and not sleeping well). All of these can be stressful to the body.
During the previous quarter, we focused on rolling out key activities at the center. We successfully organized multiple sound bath sessions, reaching 20 participants, and introduced weekly yoga sessions, with 10 people attending each session. These activities served as an introduction to the community, and we are thrilled with the positive response they received. Additionally, our team hosted a weekend retreat centered on mindfulness and mental health care, with eight women of all ages taking part in the activities. We also hosted a community event as a way to connect more with the communities that we are working with. The event consisted of a raffle, donations, and a space to connect with each other.
This quarter, our efforts have been aimed at expanding our reach. We established a partnership with local therapists to offer discounted rates, making therapy accessible to members of underprivileged communities, benefiting 10 individuals so far. We are also making significant progress in our collaboration with local government representatives, which will allow us to reach a broader community. Your continued generosity has made all of this possible, and we deeply appreciate your support as we look forward to sharing more successes in the coming months.
