Challenge

Problem statement The literature review report that was disseminated during the development of the communication strategy for HPV vaccination and cervical cancer screening by the Ministry of Health in 2018 highlighted key communication gaps regarding information access and use. These include but not limited to: Underutilization of existing services due to limited access to prevention information and service locations. Key target audiences such as school children, teachers, religious centres .

Solution

Communication objectives/Key result areas Increase proportion of students and teachers with adequate knowledge on HPV and cervical cancer screening. (index for adequate knowledge includes: what it is, transmission, prevention practices, where to go for services) Increase proportion of teachers who communicate to their pupils and colleagues about HPV. Increase private sector business enterprises with facilities to communicate to their employees or partners about HPV and cervical screening.

Long-Term Impact
