Challenge

The situation of poverty forces young working women in border areas with Mexico to seek employment opportunities. So in the last 4 years there is an increase in migration, violating young women in the violation of their labor human rights. Topic that is linked to labor trafficking, as many of them end up losing their lives, or return pregnant. For the same lack of knowledge and training of families with very limited economic resources.

Solution

This project lays the foundation for the change that will be generated in the lives of working women. The training and legal support to workers generates empowerment for the exercise of complaints of violence, for the application of labor justice. Local authorities will provide greater support to families on the risk of young women migrating to seek employment in other countries without the necessary knowledge and documentation.

Long-Term Impact

The project will benefit 600 young women who live in border areas in knowledge of labor rights, who will obtain capacities for the defense of violence and harassment, in addition they will be able to count on a local, effective institutional mechanism for the prevention of migration, and the protection of labor rights.
