Most of the Sundarbans coastal area is non-electrified and Sundarbans coastal communities living in dark at night due to lack of electricity and increased kerosene price. School students of the coastal areas can’t continue their study at night for lack of electricity.
Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) is an environmental development organization which has been trying to reduce the sufferings of the coastal people by supporting solar lamps since 2014. BEDS has its special concern about children education. BEDS has already supported 3000 coastal families by giving solar lamp, solar home system, solar generator and solar battery. The organization is trying to raise fund from GlobalGiving platform. So far we have raised 910$ from fourteen donations. We expect to draw the donors kind attention and raise the total fund that is 15000$ for this project.
It is our expectation that by 2021 we will be able to raise the total fund for this project. We have been communicating with the local people regularly about the progress of our project.
This is our earnest request to the donors, please come forward and create the opportunity for the coastal students to continue their study by supporting them with solar lamps.
