Major portions of the Sundarbans coastal region of Bangladesh are lacked of electricity. More than 90% people of the coastal region lives below the poverty line. Due to their poverty, parents hardly purchase Kerosene for their children’s education purpose.
It’s been more than a year since the pandemic started last year; most of the time student’s stayed inside their house to avoid being infected from covid-19 virus. Schools also stopped and children’s study their lesson and modules at home. As a result, school students of the coastal areas can’t continue their study at night for lack of electricity.
Feedbacks from the beneficiaries:
A supported school student expresses his feelings ‘‘Now I am very happy. I got the chance to study in bright light at night. This solar light is not just a light, it is a blessing for me. In past I couldn’t continue my education in night properly, I used to read for limited time and went to bed early. But now I can study my lesson and modules at night and my academic result is improving day by day.’’
The solar lighting system plays a important role to increase students’ performance, both academically and personally.
We would like to thank all our donors for being so kind to us and we hope that our kind hearted donors will spread out their helping hands for the betterment of the underprivileged coastal students by starting monthly recurring donations;
