Solar lamp-A dream of poor student in Bangladesh

Major portions of the Sundarbans coastal region of Bangladesh are remote and geographically challenging. Absence of reliable Grid Connectivity electricity, most of the Sundarbans rely on traditional energy source kerosene lamps, but due to high price of kerosine and their poor economic livelihood condition they cannot afford to buy kerosene to their children’s education purpose.

Impact:

Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) is an environmental development organization which has been trying to reduce the sufferings of the coastal people by supporting solar lamps since 2014. BEDS has already supported more than 3500 coastal families by giving solar lamps, solar home system, solar generator, and solar battery. In addition, three solar stations have been installed for the community’s electricity facility. Renewable energy is the most appropriate and ser-friendly approach for solving this problem.
