Education can change 93 children's lives in Mexico

In our organization, we believe that good nutrition goes beyond providing balanced meals, it’s about teaching our children and youth how to make healthy choices for themselves. That’s why our nutrition education workshops have become such an important part of our daily life.

Led by our nutritionist, these workshops are hands-on and practical. The children don’t just listen to information about food groups or vitamins. They prepare their own healthy snacks in an easy and fun way.

Through practical activities, the children learn more than just recipes. They start to understand which foods give them energy, help them grow strong, and keep them healthy. Most importantly, they feel proud of what they make and enjoy sharing it with their friends.

We’ve seen the impact: children who were once hesitant to try new foods are now curious and willing to experiment. They ask questions about ingredients and suggest new snack ideas. These small changes matter. They help create lifelong habits that will protect their health well into adulthood.

At the Albergue, every snack prepared in these workshops is more than just food, it’s a lesson and a step towards a healthier future. En nuestra Institución, creemos que una buena nutrición va más allá de proporcionar comidas equilibradas. Se trata de enseñar a nuestros niños y jóvenes a tomar decisiones saludables por sí mismos. Por eso, nuestros talleres de educación nutricional se han convertido en una parte tan importante de la vida cotidiana de nuestros niños.

Dirigidos por nuestra nutrióloga, estos talleres son prácticos y participativos. Los niños no solo escuchan información sobre los grupos de alimentos o las vitaminas también preparan sus propios refrigerios saludables de una manera fácil y divertida.

Los talleres les posibilitan comprender qué alimentos les dan energía, les ayudan a crecer fuertes y les mantienen sanos. Y lo más importante, se sienten orgullosos de que ellos mismos los preparan.

En el día a día, en el Albergue hemos visto el impacto: los niños que antes dudaban en probar nuevos alimentos ahora sienten curiosidad y están dispuestos a experimentar. Hacen preguntas sobre los ingredientes y sugieren nuevas ideas para los snacks. Estos pequeños cambios son importantes, ya que ayudan a crear hábitos para toda la vida que protegerán su salud hasta la edad adulta.

En el Albergue, cada refrigerio preparado en estos talleres es más que un simple alimento, es una lección y un paso hacia un futuro más saludable.
