Bangladesh is developing country with its vast population and among them coastal area people of South western part of Bangladesh are natural resource dependent. To minimize the dependency on natural resource, Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) develop a green business model that is by restoring mangrove on the shore of river, community collect different mangrove fruits and produce pickle which has a high demand among the tourist. Local community women collecting mangrove fruits, producing pickle and after packaging this marketing to the tourist and different shop of Bangladesh. This is created an alternative livelihood opportunity for the lower income family. So, this initiative is helping the women to contribute in their family income.
BEDS is currently trying to raise funds from GlobalGiving platform in order to help those marginal people in the way of income generation for their better future with better economic conditions. We also hope that through taking support from various corners they will be able to use their products for earning their sound livelihood.
