Collection of acanthus ilicifolius

Sundarbans is a world largest mangrove forest in the world. This forest area has 333 species of plant and acanthus ilicifolius is a native species among all of those. This plant can be seen in different part of Bangladesh like Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Noakhali, Barisal, Pirojpur, Bagerhat, Khulna Satkhira district. As a plant, it  has a medicinal value and Sundarbans Resource Harvesters Cooperatives Society under the brand BANOJIBI is going to launch a mangrove tea by this  acanthus ilicifolius. One of the trainings is got how to prepare this mangrove tea. By this innovative idea of the coastal community, they are preparing this mangrove tea. When this production will be produced in a massive level, this will be economically benefited for the community of coastal area.

BEDS is currently trying to raise funds from GlobalGiving platform in order to help those marginal people in the way of income generation for their better future with better economic conditions. We also hope that through taking support from various corners they will be able to use their products for earning their sound livelihood.

We would like to thank all our donors for being so kind to us so far. We are requesting all our kind donors to start monthly recurring donations. For recurring donation, please visit the followinglink; https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/livelihood-improvement-for-fishermen-families/
