News from the Ludoteca

By Eveli Leyva | Project Assistant

Dear supporters,
It is a pleasure to share with you our recent achievements and efforts to keep improving the support we provide to our children and adolescents here at the Ludoteca.
Our promoters keep receiving psychology workshops and training aimed at improving their school support and childcare skills. We would like to highlight the great work of three of our youngest promoters, Elizabeth, Carla and Wanderly, who are doing a great job in implementing the new methodology they are learning during the above mentioned workshops.
We recently started working with adolescents in child domestic labor. We offer two workshops per month, dealing with emotional issues, low self-esteem, and adolescence in general. They are really enjoying these workshops because there is no other place in Nueva Rinconada providing this kind of service.
It is winter in Lima and it is cold in the mountains where the Ludoteca is situated. Humidity and drizzle leak into our center because the uralita roof is more than ten year old. We therefore organized a fundraising event here in Lima, in order to be able to change it. Thanks to the efforts made by promoters and the children and adolescents' mothers, we managed to raise the money.
Keeping our center running is a great challenge, but we keep learning and improving our work.
Thank you for believing in us and for your continued support.

Best regards,

Eveli
