This year, in-person classes have finally begun in Peru and the girls we support through our youth center, Ludoteca, returned to school. Two years of online classes have taken a toll on their education. They have writing, reading and math issues. Therefore, during the week, we help them improve their school performance, implementing a special support program, but always complementing it with playful activities. We have already seen good results, as their grades are improving.
On Saturdays, we keep offering workshops on personal hygiene, self-esteem, and healthy nutrition. In addition, girls receive sanitary kits, healthy snacks, and a food basket. They are especially happy to participate in these workshops and have an opportunity to be heard:
This report will be the last one from this project, but the Ludoteca’s activities will not stop. We have achieved recurring financing to continue supporting girls in San Juan de Miraflores and make this project to be sustainable in the future. Thank you very much for all your support during these years. None of this would have been possible without your support!
If you wish to keep supporting our projects, you can continue to do so through GlobalGiving, donating to our programs for the prevention of child domestic labor and the empowerment of women. Thank you very much!
Warm regards,
Evely
