Exciting news from Jugando Aprendo!

Girl playing at our center, Ludoteca
Girl playing at our center, Ludoteca

Dear friends,

In Pamplona Alta, where the Ludoteca is located, we had a cold winter. The hills are covered with mist and it still gets dark quite early at night. However, children and adolescents still attend regularly our center.

This last month we received a group of scouts from France and they helped us improve the facade of the center and build vertical gardens. Other students and volunteers also collaborated changing parts of the wooden walls. Children and teenagers now take turns watering our brand new vertical gardens and keeping the Ludoteca clean.

The children had a two-week holiday. They played a lot and participated in the LUDO CINE where we projected cartoons and educational films.

Some of our children participated in drawing, dance and math contests at their schools and ...won first prizes! We are very proud of them, because we are seeing a real improvement. During the first semester they are all getting good grades and their mothers also are very happy.

A teenager who used to be beneficiary of the Ludoteca, has now become promoter. Moreover, thanks to the good development of her skills and her commitment, she obtained very good grades in school and was awarded a scholarship by the Peruvian government to attend high school. She is very excited about these two achievement and we are very proud of her.

Thank you once again for helping us make this possible!

Best regards,

Eveli Leyva
