Day Against Child Labor and Father's Day events!

By Eveli Leyva | Project Leader

Dear Supporters,

On June 12 we celebrated the International Day Against Child Labour! An event was organized by state entities, the Municipality of Miraflores, the ILO and several NGOs. AGTR played an important role: children and adolescents from AGTR created and performed a play at the event. Although it was a school day, part of “Jugando Aprendo" could attend. We were very happy because the Minister of Labour attended and spoke about the urgency of fighting to eliminate child labor.

Last Sunday, June 19th, was Father's Day. Many of our children live with their mother only (their fathers left), but in our weekly meeting we addressed the importance taking good care of children: accept them as they are, talk to them, play with them... Little by little these good concepts are being assimilated and put into practice by promoters and families. Our Jugando Aprendo’s center really is a space to build a better life.

Thank you for your continued support!

Sincerely,

Eveli Leyva
