Our follow up sessions with the institutes was very inspiring. Most of the institutes faced some challenges at the beginning of the year (new enrollments, getting the children to settle into the school routine).
We have received feedback from two of the homes that started “the Jerry Giraffe program and it seem to be one of the kids’ favorites, they remind the teacher when it comes to the Thursday that it’s Jerry’s day to visit. The simplicity of the lesson plans are very useful as everything around implementation the lesson is straight forward.
The Fikelela team has offered the institutes assistance wherever possible to make sure that the children are educated in a fun loving manner to care for themselves and those around them.
St Francis home for boys 15 in attendance age 4 – 12 years old, Jerry taught them the golden rules and I am special theme song. The kids loved every minute and looked forward to answer the questions just to have the Talking Flower in their hand, this is the best tool one of the teachers commented.
Fikelela Child and Youth Care Centre 15 children attends the Jerry program regularly. It is extremely helpful with the discipline of the children. The kids know Jerry well and there is huge excitement when Jerry comes out to play.
