When one reads about child abuse it always brings about sadness and questions. Education and raising ongoing awareness is important. Being able to do this daily is a priviledge and gives one such a good feeling of making a difference. Children are at risk and vulnerable whether it be in a classroom environment or a play area. Unless we spend time with them explaining the difference and creating awarenss within their young lives it will make things a lot easier. Many times we are not able to explain why children bully others, why children behave inapropriately . We have to continue raising awareness, using our Jerry Girafe resources children are entertained and they love the engagement especially the star and the talking flower. It instills discipline allows them to listen more attentively and they also love to share their experiences. Children who grow up in facilities/child care centres dont always understand why they are there or what the reason for them being abused is. The more time we spend with them they begin to trust us and they then open up their story. It is unbelievable and totally majestic when they share from these deep spaces and you feel so honoured to be able to sit on the other side and listen. Your donation enables us to provide them with protection and safe spaces and expose them to dangers and awareness of what they can do differently. Thank you for trusting us to fill the shoes of being good listeners and carers to our young children.
