We are living in very uncertain and challenging times at the moment, whether we want to be reminded or not.
Fikelela Aids Project have faced many challenges over the years, experiencing so many situations of poverty, inequality and trauma – specially trauma affecting children, through neglect and abuse.
We extended an invitation to all 48 parishes in the Diocese of Cape Town, of the 48 parishes we have already done training with 28 parishes, we specifically targeting the 20 parishes that have not attended the Jerry Giraffe training before. Offering them the choice to attend a virtual or on site small group Jerry Giraffe training sessions, taking into consideration social distance, and recommended group sizes.
Most of our parishes have not opened up to full capacity and Sunday school has not been functioning since Covid started last year March 2020. However many of the parishes are excited at this opportunity and discussions are taking place with regard to the way forward.
In the meantime we have prepared a few resource packs to have on hand for when parishes need our training and resources.
We would like to thank you for your ongoing donations that enables us to make a difference in the lives of others.
