We ran a holiday club for 60 children during the school holidays. This is the time when the children are most at risk of neglect and abuse.
Five leaders helped out and the several parents assisted. The chidlren were so excited to have Jerry Giraffe with them for the whole week.
Some of the children had difficulties expressing themselves because they have been constantly criticised and brought down being told 'You are stupid"
One litle boy told us that his mother told him "you are stupid becuase your dad is a druggie" and for him he loved the song that Jerry taught that says "I am special"
Jerry has lots of places to go and children to meet , where he will tell them how special they are!
