Project Implementation Update
Sanash Welfare Foundation (SWF) remains firmly committed to protecting vulnerable children in Pakistan from abuse, exploitation, neglect, harassment, sexual violence, and harmful practices, including child marriage.
Unfortunately, the implementation of our Child Protection & Safeguarding in Pakistan project has experienced delays due to complex regulatory, financial, and administrative compliance requirements applicable to non-profit organizations operating in Pakistan.
Despite our continued efforts, we have not yet been able to complete the Know Your Customer (KYC) verification and establish the fully compliant organizational bank account required to facilitate the receipt and management of international charitable funding.
The completion of banking requirements, together with the necessary governmental and regulatory authorizations, remains essential before we can responsibly commence project activities.
Why This Project Remains Urgently Needed
Pakistan continues to face serious child protection challenges. Children, particularly those living in poverty, marginalized communities, and vulnerable households, face risks including physical and emotional abuse, sexual exploitation, harassment, child sexual abuse, child marriage, and barriers to accessing safe and protective environments.
Many children remain vulnerable because of limited awareness of child protection rights, inadequate access to reporting and referral mechanisms, social stigma, and insufficient community-based safeguarding resources.
These challenges reinforce the urgent need for preventive education, community awareness, safeguarding systems, and coordinated protection initiatives.
Every child deserves to grow up in a safe, supportive, and protective environment, free from violence, exploitation, and abuse.
Our Current Challenges and Commitment
The delay in implementation is administrative and regulatory in nature. It does not reflect any reduction in our organization's commitment to this project.
SWF recognizes the importance of complying with applicable governmental regulations, banking procedures, financial transparency requirements, and international donor accountability standards.
We are therefore prioritizing the completion of the necessary documentation, institutional verification, banking arrangements, and regulatory authorizations before initiating funded activities.
Our objective is to ensure that project resources can be received, managed, monitored, and utilized transparently and responsibly, in accordance with applicable legal requirements and donor expectations.
Preparing for Project Implementation
While the project remains in its preparatory phase, our intended priorities continue to include:
Raising awareness among parents, caregivers, teachers, and communities about child protection and safeguarding.
Promoting the prevention of child abuse, sexual exploitation, harassment, and child marriage.
Strengthening community understanding of children's rights and available protection mechanisms.
Developing appropriate safeguarding procedures and referral arrangements with relevant stakeholders.
Building partnerships with local institutions and child protection actors.
Preparing for responsible implementation once the required authorizations and compliant financial arrangements are in place.
These activities represent our planned interventions and have not yet commenced under this project.
An Appeal to Our Global Supporters
We sincerely appreciate the interest, encouragement, and solidarity of the GlobalGiving community and our international supporters.
Although implementation has been delayed by circumstances involving regulatory and banking compliance, the need to protect vulnerable children has not diminished.
We respectfully request our global supporters to continue standing with Sanash Welfare Foundation and supporting the objectives of this important initiative.
Your continued support can help sustain the project's visibility and readiness as we work toward fulfilling the requirements necessary for implementation.
Any contributions will be handled in accordance with GlobalGiving's applicable procedures, the project's funding arrangements, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements. Project expenditures will not commence until the necessary compliance conditions are satisfied.
Once all required authorizations and banking arrangements are established, we intend to move forward with project implementation and provide further updates on planned activities, timelines, and progress.
Moving Forward Together
Protecting children is a shared responsibility that requires commitment, cooperation, and sustained support.
Sanash Welfare Foundation remains dedicated to establishing the institutional and operational arrangements necessary to implement this project responsibly and effectively.
We look forward to the day when we can move from preparation to action and begin contributing directly to safer environments for vulnerable children across Pakistan.
We thank every supporter who continues to believe in our mission. Together, we can help build a future where children are protected, respected, and empowered to live free from violence and exploitation.
