Current Status: Fundraising & Pre-Implementation

The project has officially launched its fundraising campaign. Because we are currently seeking our initial donors, fieldwork and workshops have not yet commenced. Our primary focus at this stage is securing the necessary financial backing to bring this critical training to the frontline educators in Niger state.

Key Activities Underway

While we work to secure funding, the project team is actively engaged in preparatory tasks to ensure immediate execution once our goal is met:

• Campaign Mobilization: Launching the fundraising appeal to potential donors, highlighting the urgent need to address child abuse and neglect in local schools.

• Curriculum Planning: Outlining the workshop modules focusing on child rights, abuse prevention, and the establishment of safe reporting mechanisms.

• Stakeholder Outreach: Identifying the schools and 200 teachers who will participate in the initial pilot of the school protection committees.

Immediate Needs & Next Steps

The most critical barrier to implementation right now is securing seed funding. Our immediate next steps are to:

1. Attract our first foundational donors to build campaign momentum.

2. Finalize the resource materials that will be distributed to teachers during the workshops.

3. Secure partnerships with local education authorities in Niger state to facilitate the training sessions once funds are available.
