Agressive fighting has stopped, but in its place lack of food source, fuel, transportation has led to a different type of constraints in our area of Tigray.
Abraham's Oasis has kept up with these changes, the number of minors referred to the Safe House has waxed and waned according to the need and parents / families located resulting in happy and tearful reunions.
At the time of writing we have 10 boys and 6 girls who are doing well. There is peace amongst them and they have become children again. No talk of war, just discussing lego competitions!
There are also 8 traumatized kids from another safehouse at Abraham's Oasis, attending the day sessions and these kids are slowly healing from the horrors they have seen.
They have day programmes with teachers doing some informal education, counselling sessions, play time and reading time.
The different agencies in our area who have visited our projects are impressed with the laughter and how happy the children are.
