The need for assistance to new born babies whose mother died is still huge.
Selamawit* is a 4-month-old female baby who was orphaned shortly after childbirth. Her mother passed away 2 weeks after the birth of Selamawit.due to extensice bleeding after the birth.. This left the family in deep sorrow and stress, particularly as they struggled to afford baby formula from the market. In search of assistance, her father and grandmother sought help from various organizations without any result. After 3 months the local health center referred the case to our organization.
After receiving the referral, we met with the family and assesed the needs. It was clear that Selamawit needed urgent intervention as the current feeding had already left her underweight. We took immediate action to support the baby. We provided a baby care package consisting of baby formula, a baby bottle, nipples, baby clothes, powder detergent, and body soap. We also offered the family professional guidance on how to prepare and use the baby formula, clean the equipment, and properly care for the baby. We usually supply one month of baby milk support so we can
Now Selamawit is on monthly follow up and we will check/ follow properly developmental growth and health condition ensuring that she will have a future!
Thank you for helping us to save the life of many babies!
