A big thank you for supporting this project, our "Impact Fund". Your contributions are used to help our partner organisations when they have urgent or unexpected needs, or when we are struggling to reach the total needed for a project. In this report, you will find details about the latest projects you have helped, as well a project we are hoping to support through the Impact Fund.

Our newest partner organisation is Challenging Heights in Ghana. Challenging Heights is concerned with advocating for, and rescuing, children who have been trafficked into forced labour in the fishing industry. The rescued children spend a period of time at their shelter and they receive special care, to help with their rehabilitation and recovery. This includes educational support too. Jonathan from Challenging Heights said that they need internet access and a networking system to improve the education the children receive and also to allow the staff to effectively manage their database system. We were able to use a small amount from the Impact Fund to help us reach the total for this project. Thank you for your support! We also want to thank Claire from Move The World, for helping to form this partnership.

Contributions from the Impact Fund have also gone towards teaching materials for children at Stepping Stones' educational programmes in China. The programmes are mostly run for migrant children in Shanghai. However, Stepping Stones is growing and is reaching more and more "left behind" children too. These are children who remain in rural areas of China while their parents leave to work in cities. Cui at Stepping Stones said that the teaching materials were used in programmes in Zhejiang province, Hunan province, Henan province, Sichuan province, Jiangxi province and Anhui province, as well as in Shanghai. Thank you for helping disadvantaged children across China with their education!

Eva at Stepping Stones wrote, "[We] express our sincere gratitude on behalf of the thousands of migrant children and Stepping Stones staff. We are impressed by the great work you are doing at Children’s Helpers Worldwide – helping children all over the world! Wish you and everyone at Children’s Helpers Worldwide bring children a brighter future!"

Finally, the Impact Fund made it possible to sponsor the salary of a part time social worker, Claudia, at Casa Mea, a children's home in Romania. Felicia at Casa Mea explained that this work is so important at Casa Mea because, among other things, Claudia:

- Keeps in touch with Child Protection and other relevant institutions.

- Monitors activity at Casa Mea.

- Prepares paperwork for each child, concerning plans for their education, their socialisation, their families, their independent life and free time activities.

- Takes care of the children's files.

- Knows the procedures for family contact (for the children who have family members who want to stay in touch).

- Provides courses for the children, including healthy eating, personal hygiene and good behaviour.

- The children can talk to her about their problems.

After being able to fund Claudia's salary, thanks to your help, we were contacted again by Felicia. More help is needed for Casa Mea. Whilst CHW has funded smaller things at Casa Mea, such as the salary for a social worker or educator each year, and extra tuition for one of the children, most of their funding came from the US and this has now dried up. We started the Impact Fund to help with unexpected needs at our partner organisations. However, this need is greater than any we have previously funded for just one project. 5000 USD (which is about £3798) is needed each month to keep the home going. Felicia spoke of raising the funds for six months. We would be happy to connect any larger charities or companies with Casa Mea, as they may be in a better position to help. We, at CHW, will do all that we can to help during this time, until a sustainable solution can hopefully be found. So far, CHW raised the funds needed for September and October. Another £648 must still be raised to reach the total needed for November.

In an ideal world, all children would be born into a loving family that could take care of all their needs - both emotional and physical. However, this is sadly not the case for so many children. Casa Mea offers a warm, caring home to a group of children and teenagers, who are growing up together like a family. Felicia has made sure that each child can follow his or her interests, from drumming to dancing to sport, just as a child's parent would want to do. Casa Mea was also planning to offer support once the children have reached 18 to make sure they can live independently in society. It is so important for Casa Mea to continue.

We are grateful to our Patron, Ottilia, for all her dedication and support for Casa Mea. We also want to thank our other Patron, Robert, as well as Anna, Carol, Marie-Lise, Sarah F, Sarah M and other supporters, who have remained anonymous, for their help. We hope the Impact Fund can also help towards the needs at Casa Mea. We will be joining GlobalGiving's fundraising challenge on GivingTuesday (27 November) so please look out for us then! Donations will be partially matched by GlobalGiving that day.

Your support made a big impact at a project in Ghana!

Thank you very much for supporting this project, the "Impact Fund". Your help makes it possible to really assist children and young people at our partner organisations, especially when there are urgent or unexpected needs. Without your support, it would be much more difficult for CHW to respond quickly.

New Life runs a children's home and school in Ghana and it was the first organisation that CHW linked with. New Life does wonderful work to support disadvantaged children and young people at the home, school and in the wider community. Your recent contributions have been such a huge help for them.

Derrick, Jackie and James at New Life have shared updates on the situations of some of the children and young people they are helping.

Isaac grew up at New Life's home. He is studying Mechanical Engineering in Cape Coast and is going into his third and final year. One of CHW's corporate supporters sponsored his tuition fees and school materials. New Life asked if CHW could provide a stipend to cover Isaac's food. Your contributions have helped to make this possible.

Dora also grew up at New Life's home. She is taking a three-year vocational course to learn how to do sewing and to make decorations for wedding and engagement functions. Her course fees were sponsored by one of CHW's supporters. A recent change in Dora's living situation left her struggling to buy food. The Impact Fund has helped CHW to be able to provide a stipend for Dora's food as well. This extra support will allow her to continue to focus on her course.

Elizabeth, aged two, lives in a village near New Life's school, with her mother and her mother's family. Her parents are teenagers and her mother would like to return to high school. New Life wants to offer Elizabeth a place at its nursery, as well as help with some of her basic needs. This will allow Elizabeth to have a good start to her education and will also enable her mother to finish high school, which means they will both have a brighter future ahead of them. We received some contributions to support Elizabeth, and the Impact Fund has allowed us to be able to help with these costs for the next six months. We are very grateful to you for your support.

Finally, heavy rain caused damage and blew the electrical light device at the children's home, leaving the home without electricity. This was definitely an unexpected need that suddenly arose, and thanks to your support, CHW was able to quickly and effectively respond and send funds for a new device the next day, which is great for all the children living in the home.

Thank you for believing in this project and for your kindness and generosity. As you can see, your help is having a direct impact on the lives of children and young people and you are truly making a difference.

You are making a difference for children and youth all over the world!

Thank you so much to each person who has supported our Impact Fund! We took part in GlobalGiving's Little By Little fundraising challenge in April and we are very grateful to everyone who supported this project!

As a small charity, we can sometimes struggle to complete appeals sent to us by our partner organisations. Your support for the Impact Fund gives much-needed help with this and you enable the children and young people to receive support more quickly.

Recently, we were trying to complete a campaign for Bethel, in Argentina. Bethel is made up of homes for children, teenagers and people with disabilities. Some computers were donated locally to House 8, one of the homes for teenagers. Bethel asked for help with funding to install WiFi in the computer room, study area and common room in House 8, and for the first six months of use. This will allow the teenagers to access educational resources for their homework and to learn how to use the internet competently for future work and study opportunities.

Thomas, who has worked with the teenagers, said that a fifteen year old asked for help with writing an email. This made him concerned about how these young people were going to deal with work or further studies in a few years time, if they had never had the chance to use the internet.

This project cost £198 in total and we were grateful to receive contributions from our generous supporters. However, we were £48 short of our total and the time was passing. We were able to use £48 from the Impact Fund to be able to complete the project. Last weekend Thomas went to get some of the cables necessary to install the internet.

Your contributions may also support Isaac, a student in Ghana. Isaac grew up in New Life's home. He wanted to study Mechanical Engineering at Cape Coast Technical University, but needed sponsorship for his fees. The company, Ronco Cayman, has been sponsoring Isaac's tuition fees through CHW. New Life then asked for support for Isaac's food and books and some sponsors have helped with this over the past couple of years. Isaac will be starting his third and final year of studies after the summer. If nobody is able to help him with the funds for food, then your donations through the Impact Fund will allow CHW to help with this.

Isaac said that in the second year, the students were grouped into their individual fields of study. He said, "I really appreciate your brilliant efforts towards my education. My special greetings to my sponsors... Wishing you the very best in your lives."

Right now, we are also trying to fundraise for the summer programmes for migrant children, run by Stepping Stones in China. Each semester since late 2014, CHW's supporters have helped with the educational materials for Stepping Stones' programmes. The children are receiving vital support with their education through Stepping Stones and this will give them the opportunity to have brighter futures. Last year, we received a grant which was used to fund the materials for the summer programme. It is so wonderful to know that, this year, some of the materials can be bought from the contributions you made through the Impact Fund.

We really cannot thank you enough for helping children and young people all around the world! Your kindness and generosity is making such a difference.
