You have made such a difference around the world!

Thank you so much for your wonderful support for the children and young people at Children's Helpers Worldwide's projects. We are so grateful for your help through our page on GlobalGiving.

Over the past few months, your contributions have assisted children and youth at all different stages in their lives.

Your support went towards the cost of care for babies and young children at Manos Abiertas's centre in Argentina. This centre provides a temporary home for small children, up to the age of six, who have been removed from their families due to abuse or neglect. Specialist care is given to these babies and children, who often have complex needs. You are helping them to have a better start in life.

Your kindness also made a difference in the lives of the young children at a creche, called Rooikappie Educare, in South Africa. Our partner organisation, The Future Factory, was able to run a sports skills programme for the children over the past months. Without the help of people like you, these children would not have had access to such a sports programme. It has been very beneficial for them.

You also helped school-aged children in China and Romania. Stepping Stones in China runs educational programmes for migrant children in Shanghai, as well as for children in under-resourced rural schools in various provinces. Your support helped to supply the children with the learning materials that they need for the various programmes, including English, Digital Literacy and Social-Emotional Learning.

You also made sure that the children and teenagers, assisted by Refugiu in Romania, had clothes, shoes, school supplies and school bags, in time for the new school year.

Your generosity has touched the life of a teenage girl in Argentina, who has spastic quadriplegia. She is benefiting from horse-assisted therapy sessions at our partner organisation, FCDE. Your help made it possible to sponsor these sessions, and this has been very good for her physical, mental and emotional health.

Finally, CHW is currently aiming to support five students in Ghana, who are being assisted by our partner organisation, New Life. Donations given through our GlobalGiving page have helped them over the past year and most recently, you supported two of the students. One is studying to become a teacher and the other is at Nursing and Midwifery College. You have helped with their tuition fees and towards their food and other basic needs.

Below is part of an update on the two students' progress, sent to us by Derrick, the director of New Life.
As the students prefer not to have their details shared online, their names have been changed.

"On behalf of New Life International, I am pleased to present this progress report on Abigail and Grace, both of whom are currently in their next to last year of tertiary education. As their appointed guardian and as a representative of the charity responsible for monitoring their academic progress and welfare, I have had the privilege of overseeing their development under your generous sponsorship...

Both young women have benefited immensely from CHW's sponsorship since their first year, receiving support for academic user fees and the food program, which has been crucial for their stability, health, and ability to focus on their studies.

Academic Progress Over the Sponsorship Period.

Abigail has shown consistent growth in her academic work, excelling in core teaching methodologies, child development, and classroom management. She has also actively participated in peer teaching and community education outreach programs.

Grace has developed solid clinical skills, proficiency in nursing procedures, and a compassionate approach to patient care. She has maintained strong grades in core nursing subjects and has performed well during clinical placements.

These results are a testament to their dedication and the stability that CHW's financial support has provided.

Personal Development and Welfare Beyond Academics.

Both young women have displayed maturity, discipline, and leadership qualities. They have: Actively participated in school clubs, groups, and volunteer initiatives; Maintained excellent attendance and punctuality; Demonstrated responsible use of resources, ensuring that your investment is maximized for their intended benefit.

The food program has been instrumental in ensuring their health and focus. Adequate nutrition has not only supported their physical well-being but has also improved their concentration, mental alertness, and overall performance.

Importance of CHW's Support.

Knowing that their tuition fees and meals are secured allows them to focus entirely on completing coursework, research projects, and examinations without financial anxiety.

Upon graduation, both Abigail and Grace will be equipped to serve their communities as qualified professionals - one in education, the other in healthcare - directly contributing to national development and fulfilling CHW's mission of empowering youth through education.

Abigail and Grace have proven themselves worthy of the trust and resources invested in them. They are on track to graduate successfully in 2026 and to become positive agents of change in Ghana.

On behalf of the beneficiaries and our organisation, I extend our sincere gratitude to CHW for your unwavering commitment and generosity. Your assistance is transforming lives and building a stronger, more skilled generation for the future."

In addition to the above projects, your kindness has also made sure that children of all ages have had access to food, as your support enabled food supplies to be bought for two programmes in Romania and South Africa. Refugiu regularly gives food to families in two villages in Romania, whilst The Future Factory is involved with a project that assists communities around Cape Town with meals. Thank you for your help with this vital need too.

We are excited to share with you that GlobalGiving will be partially matching all donations made during Giving Tuesday, a global day of doing good, which takes place on 2 December! This campaign will start from 5 am (UK time). If you would like to make a difference, which will go extra far on that day, please would you consider either making a contribution then or sharing our GlobalGiving page? We will be focussing on a project, supporting ORT SA CAPE's programmes, in Cape Town, to improve the quality of education that children receive in the classroom:  https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/education-children-teachers-cape-town/

A big thank you for making a difference for babies, children, teenagers and young people all over the world! We truly appreciate the impact you have made.
