Offering Eye Screening For Women

Health Screening Activities as Part of the International Women's Day Conference

Location: Presbyterian Women's Center, Abokobi, Accra, Ghana

On the occasion of the International Women's Day, we organised a conference with the theme "Five Years of digital Loan Repayment: Mobile Money as a Tool for Women Empowerment ''.

Thanks to the funds provided for this project, we were able to offer educational training on eye health and a free eye screening to our female participants. INdeed, vision care can change lives and an early treatment is critically important to prevent eye diseases, which can cause vision loss or blindness. However, many women are ot able to afford eye screenings or lacking of knowledge on the importance of the topic. AFAWI therefore organised a free eye screening for the 30 conference participants. We cooperated with trained professionals from Standard Vision Consults, which is a Ghanaian established Eye Care Centre.

To conduct further activities, we rely on further funding from our generous donors! Help us to make a change now and enable free health screening for deprived community members in Ghana!
