Almost 8 months ago Cianjur area was jolted by a 5.6 magnitude earthquake that caused 602 people deceased. The disaster is still impacting today's life. Last month, one of the Asar Humanity volunteers received a short message from one of the affected citizens who still lives in the evacuee camp. Desperately she had to ask for clean water. She lives with his father who has defects in his eyes. So that she needs water for daily needs, to find water in a distant water source she did not have the heart to leave his father in the camp for too long.
The impact of the earthquake caused damage to water sources, water wells were crushed by rubble material and water from the ground did not come out properly. Especially now that it's the dry season coming. The water wells dry up, causing less water flow. The water source available is only from the narrow pond and is not suitable for daily use.
Asar Humanity works with partners and stakeholders to provide clean water for the survivors. A water tank with 8000 liters of water capacity is distributed to cater the daily needs of survivors in Cugenang evacuee camps and the surroundings.
Generous friend, we can do this without your support. Follow our social media account for further updates of relief programs in CIanjur earthquake affected area.
