The situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo is becoming increasingly dire due to the ongoing conflict. Armed clashes are escalating, and violence is now reaching areas that were once considered safe
Amid this instability, Foyer Ek’Abana remains a vital refuge for children. But everyday life has become much harder. Explosions are often heard nearby, and the staff tells the children it’s just thunder, trying to shield them from the fear of war.
Because of the insecurity, the children can’t always attend school. To keep them busy and help maintain a sense of normalcy, the staff organizes games and group activities. Lately, they’ve been learning a dance routine - a simple, joyful way to stay active and take their minds off the tension around them.
The team at the center is incredibly dedicated. Despite the challenges, they do everything they can to give these children a safe, welcoming space where they can still feel like kids.
Your support makes this possible. It helps keep the center running and gives these children hope, stability, and a sense of peace in the midst of chaos.
