Dear Friends,
Thank you for your faithful, consistent support that allows us to provide the Mercy In Action College of Midwifery Claudia Booker Memorial Midwife Scholarship to a large number of deserving student midwives!
At Claudia Booker’s request before her death, full scholarships to our Mercy In Action College of Midwifery Bachelor of Science four-year degree are to be granted to Black/Indigenous students who have shown serious commitment to midwifery by having successfully completed the first two years with a minimum 3.0 GPA, have a signed contract for a clinical apprenticeship with an approved clinical preceptor, and have been attending mentoring meetings with our Scholarship Coordinator and Mentor during the first two years of the program.
This academic year, we are delighted to provide this scholarship for Bebe, a strong student who has succeeded in the first two years of our program even while being pregnant and having a baby! Bebe is committed to excellent midwifery and has qualified for our Advanced Track of study, which means she is taking a double course load to graduate around the end of this year or early next year.
Your faithful gifts allow students like Bebe to give full attention to their studies while in midwifery college full-time. We believe Bebe will be a midwife who positively changes the trajectory of maternal and infant health in her community, providing the known benefits of midwifery care to people in need.
Investing in the midwives of the future is a worthwhile endeavor! Thank you for your generosity!
Kindly,
Jenny,
For The Mercy In Action College of Midwifery team
