This quarter, our project continued to empower rural women by combining clean energy solutions with livelihood development opportunities. Through practical training sessions, women learned how to construct improved cookstoves using affordable and locally available materials. These stoves are helping families cook more efficiently while reducing fuel consumption and smoke exposure.
For many participants, the project represents more than access to clean cooking technology. It is creating a pathway toward financial independence. Women received entrepreneurship training focused on business planning, record keeping, marketing, and customer service. Equipped with these skills, participants are now producing and selling cookstoves within their communities, generating much-needed income to support their families.
The economic benefits are already becoming visible. Women who once depended entirely on subsistence farming are diversifying their income sources through stove production and sales. At the same time, households purchasing the stoves benefit from reduced fuel costs and improved cooking efficiency.
Awareness campaigns conducted throughout target communities have increased understanding of the health and environmental advantages of improved cookstoves. Families are learning how clean cooking solutions can reduce respiratory illnesses, save time spent collecting firewood, and help protect local forests.
The project continues to demonstrate that environmental conservation and economic empowerment can go hand in hand. With continued donor support, we aim to expand training opportunities and reach more women and families. Thank you for helping create sustainable livelihoods and brighter futures for rural communities in Eastern Uganda.
