EMPOWERING WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS FOR A GREENER FUTUR

By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader

Our clean cooking initiative continues to empower women with the skills and confidence needed to become successful entrepreneurs while promoting environmental sustainability. This reporting period focused on strengthening women's capacity to produce improved cookstoves and transform clean energy solutions into viable businesses.

Participants received practical training in stove construction techniques using locally available materials. The improved cookstoves are designed to reduce smoke emissions and increase fuel efficiency, making them an attractive option for rural households. Women gained valuable technical knowledge that allows them to provide quality products within their communities.

Entrepreneurship development remained a key component of the project. Through business training sessions, women learned how to manage finances, identify customers, and market their products effectively. These skills are helping participants establish small enterprises that generate income while meeting growing demand for clean cooking technologies.

Community awareness campaigns highlighted the health, economic, and environmental benefits of improved cookstoves. Families learned how the stoves can reduce household fuel expenses, improve indoor air quality, and lessen dependence on firewood. As awareness increases, more households are expressing interest in adopting clean cooking solutions.

The project is contributing to a greener future by reducing pressure on forests and encouraging sustainable resource use. At the same time, women are strengthening their economic independence and becoming respected leaders within their communities.

We remain grateful to our donors and supporters for investing in solutions that improve lives, protect the environment, and empower women to build sustainable futures for themselves and their families.
